"Reimagining" what we all over the many years called variously Disney Village Marketplace, Downtown Disney, etc. and now about to reimagine to be newly named: Disney Springs.

In this case literally Disney's designers and planners have gone back to the drawing board to reinvigorate the area we used to know as Disney Village Marketplace, Downtown Disney, etc.  Once complete it will be a new attraction!  In the old spots.

At the link is what they've come up with, the usual "artist's concepts" displays.

Notice other than artists renderings of "concepts" the vagueness.  Dining, shopping, entertainment.... Like what, specifically?  No answers.  Just pictures.

Get your flagpole out, run Disney's flag up it, see if anyone salutes.  All we have are drawn pictures.... Which is how Mickey Mouse started out once upon a time, and dreams can come true...  Or another "reimagining" can take place in a few years if the dream doesn't come true.

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/the-dai....5.story

A picture is worth a thousand words but captions accompanying pictures are priceless, so at the link are 11 artist renderings with captions under each one offering brief explanations.

Good news?  Bad news?  So-so news?  Still wishing for The Adventurers Club to reimagine itself back into existing?  Even though not many people visit Disney Echo anymore if you have an opinion feel free to hit "Reply".

There were so few places to shop, dine, spend time strolling and browsing in, so few places to drink adult beverages in...  WDW needs this. ;)  (Cynicism mode.)

Jeany...  Uh....  The first two paragraphs of what I wrote explain it sufficiently.  Then click links.  The links explain and show artist concepts in detail.  I just tested the links and they are still working.  Answer your own question by doing that, dear.   :tsk:

Love ya, Jeany, by the way, so don't misinterpret what I wrote.

If the Original Posting and it's still valid links are still as clear as mud for your understanding, then simply enter Disney Springs into Google, Bing, Yahoo, Google News, Yahoo News or Bing News, the online Orlando Sentinel Daily Disney Blog on the Orlando Sentinel website, Deb Will's All EarsNet.com fan site about Disney, etc. and lots of articles will pop up.

For you, Jeany, and other infrequently logging on members, our site now guides you to how to do Disney research to sites with news, information, and people who maintain the sites and have active chat communities.  You'll be better served by moving on to those.  In this way you can answer your own questions and be like Captain Jack Sparrow in being "savvy".  :depp:

Here's what to do, and a good idea is to preserve the suggestions so you can access them any time you have Disney questions.

So.....

Click this link.  Scroll to the Last Posting at This Link, Dated May 2011.  READ IT.  There are suggestions.  Google, Bing or Yahoo the suggested sites, no direct links are provided but most people can transcribe the suggestions into search engine windows and hit "enter".  Simple.  Easy.  And Do-It-Yourself.  Anyone can do it.

http://new.disneyecho.emuck.com/cgi-bin....7;st=10

Thanks.

If you have Comments AFTER you actually read the Original Posting, click valid links in the Original Posting and then AFTER ACTUALLY READING THE ARTICLES and VIEWING SLIDE SHOWS at the links, and assuming you've ever been to WDW before... Feel free to click on "Reply" and Comment accordingly.

Thanks, Jeany, we'll see if it's a nice name once it's built.  But Jeany...  Please read and do the requests made here.  You'll help yourself more, and get the info you're seeking more.  Sorry our site is what it is.  Thanks for understanding.   :pixiedust:

Yes it's a very nice name, just like shopping centers and shopping malls and commercial entertainment areas of towns anywhere have very nice names which were developed by commercial real estate developers.  Think of Disney as a commercial real estate developer.  Think of old, tired, outdated shopping centers, malls, entertainment districts, even local supermarkets and fast food restaurants where you live that get makeovers or are torn down only to be built up again, with fresh looks, fresh new interior designs, and maybe new names.  Then the commercial real estate developers promote the heck out of it to draw people away from competing, similar, places.  That's what's going on with Disney Village Marketplace-Downtown Disney-Pleasure Island.  It goes on in local towns and suburbs by commercial real estate developers, it goes on at Disney too.  Change shopping centers and malls from an Old Name to a New Name to further market it and signal something new has taken place.  New Name is always something pleasant sounding and attractive.

That's what's going on.

So re-read Original Posting and then click links and actually read what is at the links and look at artists concepts.

While the drawings look nice so did the drawings for Hyperion Wharf. We shall see if this dream comes true.
