Basically: This is an existing Disney iPhone App about Disney Princesses, for mainly child amusement purposes. It's been updated to include dressing up the Princesses to be in "royal weddings". Timely with the real Royal Wedding nuptials and hoopla in London, England tomorrow (April 29, 2011) of Prince William and Kate Middleton in the British real life monarchy.
You click and bring a selected costume or dress or accessory element to the selected Princess. And you can insert a photo of anyone in a facial cut-out oval so the photo is surrounded by the head, hair, dress style and accessories you've chosen, then you can E-mail that off to someone to see.
You know Disney.... Princesses are big marketing and licensing income for Disney. Now we have a real life prince marrying who'll eventually become Queen of England in a real life Royal Wedding, it's gotta be irresistable for Disney to tie into the event in some way. Take advantage of opportunities, and all that.
There is a video demonstration at the link of how the newly revised App works. In the video it looks like it's for iPhone users. If you use iPads or other mobile electronic smartphones or pads, I don't know if there is a version. You'll have to check.
Link goes to the Mom and the Mouse section of Orlando Sentinel's "The Daily Disney" blog.
Pre-Warning: A lot of us know this is meant for children, particularly Disney Princess fan children. With that said, when viewing the video demonstration of the App it is very very very "girly girl" and pink and ultra feminine with lilting music. Some like it (girly girl pink ultra feminine Disney Princesses culture), some can't get enough, out of love for a child some just know "this too shall pass" and suck it in, and others.... uh.... if you're not into the girly girl pink Princess and dress up thing, this might not be the App for you. Appreciate or tolerate accordingly, you know who you are. The video might affect various types of people various ways, just a pre-warning, so if you "go there" and play it and you aren't a "Princess"-fan you've been warned. Or putting it this way: On a scale of 0-10 of ultra feminine Disney Princessy girly girl the video and I guess the App too would be 9-10.
