Also remember all guests can get turndown. If you are non-concierge just call and request it when you are there.

Aloha

Steve

Just a note...this was not the case for us.  I requested turndown service as soon as someone from "mousekeeping" came by (almost immediately after we checked into the room) to see if everything was alright with the room.  The "man with the clipboard" took down my request, but it never happened, even after I followed up with a request to the concierge desk downstairs.  The person I spoke with said, "we don't do that".

You mean you requested to a person from Mousekeeping who came by your room in the Polynesian and it wasn't a concierge room? I've never tried this... I've always had great luck staying in the non-concierge rooms and phoning Mousekeeping, requesting the turn-down service as well as robes, and that has been done -- for free. But calling the Lobby Concierge or the Concierge desk (when you aren't staying concierge) isn't the way to request the turn-down service, calling Mousekeeping is the way.

That might be what the man meant when he said they "don't do this..." -- that Lobby Concierge doesn't do this (and he left out that Mousekeeping does) or he was an uninformed CM who didn't know where to direct your request to the proper department.

Next time, try the phone to Mousekeeping, and also let the resort manager know what happened on your last vacation at the Polynesian about this.

Correct...someone from Mousekeeping came by the room right away to make sure it was alright, and it was at that time that I requested of him in person that we have nightly turndown.  He noted it, and I assumed it would be taken care of.  Next time, I'll handle it by phone.  Thanks as always for the tip!

Yes, and next time report the person to the manager, too. They should have treated you better, but maybe his note got lost in the shuffle. The manager should know that though, to correct things like that.

And, as always, it is my pleasure!

I have many "Mousekeeping" envelope files in MS Word format from back in the mid 90s. These envelopes are in color and have beautiful Disney graphics with many different characters depicted. Some are Xmas themed with characters.

Anyone who would like them are free to email me at:
tsk_tsk at yahoo dot com. Put "Mousekeeping Envelopes" in the subject line. There are 36 different envelope files and the total size is 2.87MB
If someone would like to receive these to then post them to the "Forum", (if that is permitted) that's Ok also. I don't know how to do it myself or I would have done so.
