Did you notice on Walt Disney World's official website something missing in their description of Disney's Polynesian Resort?
Quote
Services and Amenities:
  • Room Service
  • Concierge desk
  • Health club/spa
  • Babysitting and child services
  • Pak-n-Play Crib available
  • Convenient self-parking
  • Valet parking available for a nominal fee
  • Rooms and facilities for Guests with disabilities
  • Laundry facilities/services

Notice that there is no mention of internet access at the Polynesian, even though on their website the nearby resorts such as the Grand Floridian and Contemporary feature internet access in their list of services and amenities.

What's up with that?

Just last night it was verified by Disney EchoEar Donna, calling from her Polynesian Resort's LVC room on the phone to BambiTamby, that no matter what you might read on even Disney's official website, high speed internet access is now in all of the rooms at Disney's Polynesian Resort.

Disney is about to supply us with the complete details which I'll post here on the Disney Echo, but for wireless internet access (Wi-Fi), the closest access point is apparently still the Grand Floridian lobby and Grand Floridian business center -- or hop the monorail to the Contemporary Resort.

You can have internet access in any Guest room right now at the Polynesian Resort, though, just use a wire to get the high-speed access into your computer, not Wi-Fi.

More details, direct from Disney, coming soon!

Disney is about to supply us with the complete details which I'll post here on the Disney Echo...

Here's what Disney has passed along to me about that:

    Quote
    Dear Rich,

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World Resort.

To access the Internet and/or Email, a variety of options are available at various locations at the
    Walt Disney World Resort:

Dial-Up Internet Service is available at Resort Business Centers and in Resort rooms.

In-Room Dial-Up Access: The Disney Resort hotels support mobile computing through a dataport

Computer Rentals: Computers are also available at certain Disney Resort hotels for rental if you
need to work on a project. Please call the appropriate Business Center for pricing and
availability. If it is after hours, please call the Center in the morning.

    *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

In-Room Internet Access: High Speed Internet Access (HSIA)

Wi-Fi:  High Speed Wireless Internet Access

Wi-Fi is available to Guests staying at select Walt Disney World Resort Hotels.  Guests with Wi-Fi

Here are Theresa/Seaspray's Oct.-Nov. 2005 Polynesian Resort photos, with her comments:

Polynesian Concierge room #3503 - October/November 2005

Around the grounds at the Polynesian:

The tiniest Polynesian CM we've ever seen:

Room #3503:

Pictures taken from the balcony of room #3503:

The Concierge Lounge:

Macaroni & Cheese and grilled chicken Caesar Salad night:

Sushi Night, including one vegetables-only type that was delicious.
John said the fish sushi was good as well, but I'm taking his word on that. LOL

My plate, with the veggie sushi:

John's plate, with one of each type of sushi:

We finally were in the lounge for desserts & cordials time, but we didn't try any of them because we were too full from dinner and we were on our way to Epcot to see Illuminations. They looked delicious though! LOL

The newly decorated Hawaii building concierge desk area, including the new orange-guava juice dispensers:

I've updated, added to, and reorganized the information on the first page of this topic. I hope you now find it easier to find out all the facts and FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) about Disney's Polynesian Resort and that you like the new map with its current satellite image taken far above the resort and labelled to show where the longhouses are as well as other things to do at the resort.
