Yoo Hoo and aloha, Disney EchoEars!

The Disney Echo has loads of more storage space available for pictures, so reply and post the Polynesian Resort pictures you've taken and we can all share in a virtual Polynesian Resort trip, right on our computer!

You can either send me a private message if you need help doing that, or use our Disney Echo Slideshow at Frappr (click here).

Sushi Night, including one vegetables-only type that was delicious.
John said the fish sushi was good as well, but I'm taking his word on that. LOL

We finally were in the lounge for desserts & cordials time, but we didn't try any of them because we were too full from dinner and we were on our way to Epcot to see Illuminations. They looked delicious though! LOL

Disney EchoEar Susan / Eponine is sharing her photos of the Polynesian Resort with us.

Susan previously posted about her vacation in which they stayed at the Fiji longhouse in connecting rooms 3302 and 3303 in this topic on the Disney Echo but she now has even more pictures to share with us!

Room 3302 (they had connecting rooms 3302 and 3303). Great room, lots of space and a great view!

In the Great Ceremonial House

One of the many views from the balcony, looking at the Grand Floridian...

...and another view: the beach and the wedding pavilion.

Another look out from her garden view room. They also were able to see the monorail go by!

Thanks, Susan!

...but I like the look of this room (below) much better! :hula2:

Those dark headboards in between the wood post headboard frames look great and eventually I bet all the rooms will have them, even the one you stayed in, Susan. I just think it looks better than only having the wall behind the posts. I like the new room lighting, too!

Steve / Tikiman just sent me this other picture of the new room decor at the Polynesian Resort, which I'm happy to share with y'all now:

Click here for a much larger view!

Steve / Tikiman wants to add that the photo in my reply (just above this one) showing the older room decor isn't what had been there in the Polynesian Resort guest rooms right before this newest room look. The room style shown in the old photo was part of the room renovations of 1991 which remained in place until 1996.

The Polynesian Resort renovations which started last year should be totally completed sometime later this year, but most of the longhouses are already finished (but work still needs to be finished in the Great Ceremonial House with Captain Cook's, for example).

Steve / Tikiman points out some of the differences between the room in the old photo compared to the Polynesian's last room style is mainly the fabrics which were used -- and the other main difference (not shown in the photo) was the bathrooms back then didn't have marble but were painted with tropical leaves on a white background.

You can see the room change on his Tikiman's Polynesian Resort website at this page: www.tikiman2001.homestead.com/poly2.html. Look at 1991 and 1996.

The newer photo I posted and the other new one Steve / Tikiman is contributing are photos which were sent to him previously of the Polynesian Resort's test rooms that he had on his website for a while, but then took down when he heard Disney didn't want him releasing them at that time. We're both glad to see Disney is officially distributing them now.
