Hey everyone!
as i was reading about the 7 day trip i came across something that interested me. The fireworks cruise. I was wondering how much it cost to go on it, when does it run, and etc. It sounds like something my family would like to do when we go to the poly at the end of may! if you could please give me some information i would surely appreciate it! :)

Everyone that takes it loves it. I prefer the Illuminations cruise myself. I am trying to get reservations for that since they usually book up when they hit the 90 out date. We are just at our 90 days out.

It cost $120 for the cruise and if you want extras (food, decorations, etc.) it is extra. The $120 is the total for the boat that can take up to 12 but there is no minimum.

I guess I figure it is hard to get a good view of Illuminations so it is worth the money but I can not see paying $120 for a view of Wishes when I can see it from the room or the beach.

Aloha

Steve

Yoo Hoo, Rachel!

That was Mike / Pirates of the Carib luvr who just came back from 7 nights at the Polynesian Resort and posted:

That night we had reservations for a fireworks cruise. We did this as a surprise for my DD's birthday. The boat came from the WL and showed up at the Poly marina at 9:15. It was decorated with birthday ballond and banners. There was a cake and drinks also. My DD was very surprised and thought it was an awesome idea. The boat took us out on the lagoon over by WL and FW. At 9:55, he parked us right in front of the MK in preperation for the fireworks. For anyone who has never done it, it is an incredible feeling sitting in a boat on the lagoon at Disneyworld watching fireworks with your family. I just don't see how it can get better than that. It is something I will never forget especially since my DD was so captivated.

For the fireworks cruise, we called the Poly and told them what we wanted and they connected us to the recreation and play people. We made that reservation about a month ahead of time but I don't think it needs to be that much of an advance notice.

We have taken this cruise, in fact it was with the debut of Wishes!  I "kidnapped" DH with the surprise and we loved it!  You can request decorations to celebrate the birthday of your child (we had anniversary decorations) and can order up other extras (soda, champagne, cake, etc) if you so desire.  We had champagne and chocolate covered strawberries, served by a CM (we had 2 - one to drive, one to serve).  I chose to be picked up at the GF as we were at Narcoosees for dinner.  We went out past the WL  (slowly) and were in place to see Wishes about 5 minutes prior.  I didn't find the smoke to be heavy at all and the music could be heard (although not loudly) from the boat.  I found it to be very magical and special.

I've just combined the thread about the Wishes cruise that you started, Rachel, with an existing one that was already here -- so scroll up and see more information about this cruise.

Maybe $120 is a lot to spend to watch fireworks when you can see them for free. I agree that watching them from inside the MK is magical also! But what Tikiman has to understand is, it was more than just watching the fireworks when you rent the boat. . It was the ride around the lagoon at night on a beautiful evening with my family which culminated with the fireworks. It was the total experience which made it worth more than I actually paid especially after seeing the look of amazement on my daughter's face when she saw the boat pull up to the dock and realized what her surprise was.

Hey Mike. I do understand. We do the Illuminations cruise every time and I agree the ride is half the fun. They drive you down to MGM and than around the boardwalk area than down to the show and after the show they take you around part of the lake at Epcot and than back around the waterfront of Boardwalk. I can understand the ride being a great part of it. All I am saying is that for me I would rather pay the $120 and get a great peaceful ride and see Illuminations that I can not see from my room.

It is very hard to get the Illuminations cruise though. Lisa from Magical Vacations was on the phone at 6:58 hitting speed dial till she got through and she got the last boat. Today is the 90 days out for the date we wanted and they fill up right away at the 90 day point.

Aloha

Steve

I understand Steve. Actually the Illuminations was our first choice but it was booked. We are going to try to do the Illuminations cruise next time. I have been talking with a friend at work who goes at least once a year to WDW. It seems I gave him the fever.....he just called to tell me he just made reservations for August.

How do you guys think either of the cruises would be received by a 2/3/4-yr-old? Too much up too close?
