Aloha, Disney EchoEars!

In this topic you'll find out all about how to get around at the Polynesian Resort: by bus, monorail, boat and walking!

You'll find tips and information about all of that here -- plus check out Steve / Tikiman's article about Walk Times at the Polynesian Resort... and beyond by clicking here.

Check through the many pages of this topic for advice -- and please add your own questions and comments, too!
:tiki:

And for a lot more information, not just specifically related to monorails at the Polynesian Reosrt but all about the monorails at Walt Disney World (and Disneyland, too) check out the Disney Echo's Disney Monorails and Trains forum

How long do we need to plan to get from Polynesian on the monorail to MK for breakfast with Cinderella?

Hi Joanie and welcome to the boards!

When we were at the Polynesian last Oct., 15-20 minutes from our room to walking into Town Square at MK was the average time. You never know how long security check lines will be, so you should allow yourself plenty of time.  The guide books suggest allowing an hour, but we made our PS at Crystal Palace allowing 1/2 hour and had 5 minutes to spare.

:)

Yoo Hoo, Joannie!

Aloha! Welcome to the Disney Echo!! Here's your ears as my thanks for posting your first message here:

And you also might consider taking the boat launch to the Magic Kingdom from the Poly. Check with Guest Services when you get there to see it the boat will be running that early (if you have breakfast priority seatings before the park opens).

Joanie, welcome!   When are you going down?  If it's soon, make sure you take a jacket or sweater with you.  The boats can be a might chilly in the winter even down there....The breezes are really felt on the launches...  But they are a good way to get around...

the TTC is the place where you can buy theme park tickets, park your car, pick up other forms of transportation (buses, taxis, monorail, boat) to get to and from the MK park.  Not sure why it was done but it just there :D and has been there from the start :)

It's worth the walk over to the TTC when you are going to EPCOT. If you take the monorail from the Great Ceremonial Hall, you have to go all the way around the lagoon and stop at the TTC and change monorails to go to EPCOT.

It's a beautiful walk from Tuvalu, past all the longhouses and pools and you'll get to see the lay of the resort. It will take a few minutes, but I think it's faster than going all the way around the lagoon.

I heard that some rooms in Rarotonga are nice with views of the monrail but my only concern is that the monorail will be very noisy when it passes b/c it runs i think an hour or two after MK closes and sometimes MK doesn't close till 11 or 12 and don't want to be up till 1 am and wwoken up at 6 am when they start.
Thanks
Anna
