Absolutely! In fact, we were going to go in over spring break next year, but we've just changed our minds because we LOVE October at Disney World. I think a big part of it is Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.
It's a little more crowded than it used to be, but I don't think you'd be sorry. You might also enjoy the Food and Wine Festival.

I would have to agree, before our dd started school we always used to go in October.  It was beautiful.  As a matter of fact, friends of ours still go in October and they're not big crowd lovers.

We recently went to Disney on Oct 23- 26th staying at the Boardwalk.  We usually go in the summer.  My husband LOVED it!  Okay, so did I!  The pool was warm and the crowds were light!  My husband and I couldn't believe it!  We went to the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and the Food and Wine Festival and had a wonderful time at each!  He even asked me today if Disney was running any specials for Oct 2009.  I told him not yet....  ;) but I'll keep watching!  We had gone before in March but I think it is warmer in Oct so you can enjoy the pools more without the cold wind at night.

My October days are over because of our fall break change. We are now looking at the week of Thanksgiving as our new month to go. I'm nervous about the crowds during that week, though. We'll see how it goes!

We take our DD out of school for a half day on a Thurs and a whole day on a Friday and fly down for a long weekend at Disney in October.  IT IS WORTH IT!  Planning on an October weekend for Food and Wine Festival at Beach Club!  I CAN'T WAIT!

Crazy time for Walt Disney World in November is the week leading up to and the weekend following Thanksgiving. The period between that weekend and the weekend before Christmas has always been known as a "dead zone". If you want a vacation with zilcho lines and crowds, and a chance to enjoy the Christmas decorations I highly reccomend reservations within that time area.
