Hi Kami,
I booked a few rooms and called Disney, as you suggested...they want $2,400 for the *add-on* not $1,000, and that didn't include any rooms at all! It does include the UPH with is moot with us as we have AP's! I really don't like the idea of paying twice for passes. However, for $1,800 total, we're getting a beautiful suite, a set of rooms at a moderate,  and having the ceremony on the balcony with the living room area descorated and ordering a Disney cake with a castle cake topper. We're also ordering some appetizers from concierge, and bringing our own favors, flowers, decorations,  and officiant. When you add $2,400 PLUS the cost of rooms, (another $2,00) this is a quite substantial savings and our photographer will be taking our pics in and around WDW. The only thing we'll be missing is the limo...but where would we use it any way? So, that's 2 things we'd be paying for that we wouldn't get/use, approx $1,200 worth! lol . And, of course the Disney wedding certificate, that I can make myself and let the officiant sign. Aaaand, if I decide to swing for the $650 for Mickey, I'll have him there, too! Disney calls it an *anniversary*, which it really is.

Decisions, decisions...

$60 Pal Mickey or $650 real Mickey! :mickey:

:smart:

I wonder if Mickey can be booked to travel around the parks with you. Wouldn't that be a hoot! LOL

...ahhh, romance is in the air... :hearts:

Almost a decade ago, my husband "Merdyn" and I were married at the Disneyland Hotel in their Rose Garden Gazebo (that site no longer there).    We did the castle cake, and our first dance together as husband and wife was to "When You Wish Upon A Star".  Golly, we even had our bridesmaids walk down the aisle to "Can you Feel The Love Tonight" played on a harp (Merdyn had proposed to me after we saw The Lion King at the El Capitan theater).  Wanted to do the Cinderella carriage, but it was waaaaay out of our budget.  So instead, we had a small glass menagerie of Cinderella's coach and horses placed on our cake in front of the castle!

We have been toying with the idea of going to WDW this fall and make vow renewals there for our 10th anniversary.   I'm paying close attention here now so I won't have to pay massive dollars then!

Congrats and blessings to you who are getting hitched...or getting "hitched again"!

"Merdyn"??? I thought your hubby is Bill -- the Lizard with the Ladder. :)

Hey, Mellie! You can also do vow renewals on the Disney cruise ships -- even have the ship captain "officiate" at it!

Alexis, my wedding planning days are long over (I had a custom wedding on December 13, 2003), but we are all happy to help any way we can.  Hey, we all know that every bride loves talking about her big day!  ;)

Just ask away, and we'll answer what we can. :)
