Reminder:  This show covers the topics of Disney Weddings, food, special events and Disney theme parks, so it will have wide appeal.

Check out local times and channel assignments for your local cable or satellite system.  Note also when the repeat telecast will be, so in case you miss the first airing you can catch it on the second airing, usually the same night, sometimes some repeats on the same channel within a month after the original air date though not always.

A year ago Food Network did an hour long "Unwrapped" episode all about WDW.  The finale of the show was about the making of Disney wedding cakes which was truly a stunning segment to enjoy.  If this wedding show is anything like that part of the "Unwrapped" show was like a year ago, it will be a memorable show worth preserving in your home archives.

What I wish was that there was a place on property to have a Catholic ceremony!  My DDs have all talked about wanting to get married at WDW someday (hopefully many moons from now!;) and I had to tell them that if they want to get married in our faith, they would not be able to.  But, since they use to have mass at the Luau Cove, maybe an exception will be made?  Like we have the clout!  LOL  Maybe at an Orlando church with the reception at WDW?

Here is a link to Mary, Queen of the Universe Shrine.  It operates as a place for Catholics to worship at Mass, receive confession, enjoy some spiritual activities such as their Rosary Garden, they have a Catholic religious articles store.  Whether they do weddings I don't know, but visit the site, their contact information is there and you can always call and ask.  If they don't do weddings they might be able to refer you or anyone to an Orlando Catholic church that could accomodate your request and the date and time you, or anyone, would have in mind.

http://www.maryqueenoftheuniverse.org/

Years ago it made some news in Orlando that the Diocese (Archdiocese? ) of Orlando did not want to conduct Catholic marriages on Disney property.   There is a priest shortage in the Catholic church anyway, but the real rationale is that marriage is a sacrament of such a serious spiritual nature it best is celebrated in a Catholic church as part of Catholic community.  When this made news, years ago, out of curiosity I asked at the Catholic church we attend.  Their response was that they back up and support the Diocese of Orlando and would advise engaged couples approaching them of the Orlando diocese policy and encourage them to marry instead in a Catholic ceremony at a Catholic church.  Catholic church and Diocese of Orlando don't object to wedding receptions being at Disney or being Disney-esque.  They simply want the marriage ceremony to fully reflect the spiritual and dignified and serious nature of what marriage is all about.  So ask your local Catholic parish priest or deacon to explain the spiritual rationale behind this, he'd be much more clear than I've been able to be!

And other than the "general purpose" wedding chapel Disney already built, Disney only has religious services on site anymore for Easter and Christmas.  I know they have Catholic Mass on-site for those two holidays, I don't know if there is a Protestant service as well.  The Mary Queen of the Universe Shrine site up above used to (still does? ) have a part where they explain why they don't do regular Sunday Masses at Disney any more.

Anyway, the show tonight should still be fun to watch, and that's what this thread is about, if anyone wanted to discuss the show as it airs or after it airs.

HEY!  A viewing party, online!  Anyone up for it?

So far a couple got engaged at the Chef's Table at Victoria and Albert's, and they had the white chocolate Cinderella's Slipper as dessert along with a diamond engagement ring.  Good show so far.

A vow renewal at the Polynesian Resort!  The Poly on TV!  Glimpses of Ohana's foods and desserts (even for the kids) .  This is a very good show.

They just covered the process of how to choose the foods to be served at the wedding, and the table decorations.  Next segment:  An Alice in Wonderland tea reception with a fanciful and very colorful cake, and Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

This show will be repeated:  Monday June 21 at 2 am Eastern, 1 am Central and Midnight Mountain, and  Sunday June 20 at 11 pm Pacific, for one hour.  Check Food Network TV listings for any other repeat dates and times.

Later...

The Jiko segment was very good, sounds like a superb restaurant to dine at.

Individual wedding cakes and more coming up in the next segment.

This segment had to do with customization of the weddings and particularly the food at the wedding, to make it unique and special.  Last segment has to do with details of the featured couple, from New Jersey, the bride of whom is from a big Disney fan family.

Wow, they spent $70,000 on their wedding!  But all of it was fun to see!  And the work and care Disney puts into it, really outstanding.

What did anyone else think of the show?
