I'd like to either change my Disney Echo log-in name or have extra one. How can I do that? Should I just create a new account?
No, don't create a new account. You agreed to the Disney Echo rules when you joined us and one of them is that there can only be one log-in name per person.
To change your member name, send a Private Message to me (either click the "SEND MSG" button or the "E-MAIL" button below this message of mine), explaining what you'd like to do as well as what password you would like to use with your changed log-in.
After verifying that you are the same person who registered with the previous log-in name, I'll than take care of the name change for you and let you know when it has been done.
A previous version of the Disney Echo software had this name-changing feature built-in -- but our current version doesn't have it as an option. So, I will need you to let me know what password you would like to use on the Echo with your changed log-in name. I'll enter that as well as bringing over your previous profile information for you as I make the change.
Unless our forum software gets a name-changing feature again, I will then need to turn off the posting abilities for your previous log-in (because of our "one per person" rule as regards to posting/log-ins on the Echo). If I would simply delete your old log-in, then all your old posted messages would appear to have been written by "guest" and we don't want to give that impression or cause any confusion (because we don't allow non-registered guests to post on the Disney Echo). Of course, if you have not posted anything to any of the forums on the Disney Echo yet, I will be able to delete your old log-in and free-up that old name for some other person's possible use when they register to join the Disney Echo sometime in the future, and since you never posted with the old name in that case it would not cause any confusion to simply delete it.
One thing you'll have to re-enter for yourself when your new log-in becomes active is your birthdate, if that is something you wish to share, and that is entered through Your MouseControl Panel.
You will also need to keep an explanation along the lines of "Formerly MyOldLog-In on the Disney Echo" in your Disney Echo signature (with "MyOldLog-In" being replaced with the actual name of your old log-in, of course) to avoid confusion.
