Make a Wish is a famous non-profit agency with chapters all over, which raises funds to help gran children's requests if they are seriously or teminally ill.

Their website is here, if anyone on Disney Echo might want to locate it and find out more:

Below is a special Disney-related wish granted:  A girl gets to be a voice actor on "Kim Possible" on the Disney Channel!

At the story about "Kim Possible" if you look on the left hand menu you'll see the general areas Make A Wish works in to help ease the illnesses or final days of seriously ill children.  You'll see "theme parks".  Look around in that section, and you'll see how involved this organization is with Disney.  Also Disney has, in the past, done special benefit functions that raised much needed mega-dollars to further this organization's good work and lend it high profile so others would know about the organization, too.

Just follow these links, if you need a day brightener surely these links will lift your spirits!

If you are close to a seriously ill or terminally ill loved one, this site will provide you with information to find out how this organization can assist with making wishes come true.

Make A Wish also works with Give Kids The World, a non-profit Orlando resort with fun, good times, a pool, a hotel facility that caters to children and their families who have life-threatening or chronic illnesses who want to visit Central Florida attractions.

There is a "Sticky" in this Forum about Give Kids The World.  Find it, and read and click around.  It will link you to their website to learn more.

Whether you need the services, or just have a big heart and want to further their good work, take a look at both Make a Wish and Give Kids the World!

Thanks Carol,

Our Make a Wish agency in our area is awesome!  We have seen many dreams come true for children who otherwise might not ever see their dreams become a reality.  Of the many charitable organizations this one is at the top of our list.

I am just seeing this for the first time and wanted to clarify something that Make A Wish made sure that their volunteers were very specific in how they describe what Make A Wish does.....i( I was a volunteer during my time in Orlando :)

it is that Make A Wish grants wishes to children who are living with life threatening conditions.  They don't have to be in the throws of their conditions and there are have even been times when wishes give these kids the will to live very productive lives as adults.

If you have any questions about Make A Wish and what they do and who they do it for please don't hesitate to ask :)

Thanks :)

The Tuesday after Thanksgiving is themed to "Giving Tuesday", an invitation to donate to charities and worthy causes at year end, Hannukah and Christmas.

For Disney fans who may have the willingness to donate to a somewhat Disney related worthy cause, be sure to keep Make a Wish in mind.  This organization assists those with serious or life threatening diseases and physical conditions have a wish or dream come true as respite for what they've gone through with treatments, rehab, etc.  Sometimes this organization grants wishes that involve someone having a trip to visit a Disney theme park or some other Disney-related with.  Disney itself has participated in fund-raising for Make a Wish.

Click links to find out more.

Check out any charities first at Charity Navigator and Better Business Bureau to make sure any charities you may be moved to donate to are not scams and do in fact devote the maximum proportion of your donation to the stated cause and beneficiaries vs. salaries, overhead, marketing, etc.
