I've written an article about the app we've been waiting for: Disney's official app for all the Disney parks, here on the Disney Echo Eyes and EchoEars Travel Blog.

Check it out!

Yes, it doesn't include the iPhone.  I heard that Verizon signed a deal with Disney for this.  What follows is a thought, not fact.

Perhaps Apple thinks their future is hooked to Verizon and not AT&T.  If so, you may not hear much from Apple on this development.

What I'm trying to find out is how to get this app? Its not on the Verizon website yet. Some articles say text MAGIC to 2777, but this gets you an error message. I read it was available now, so I wish I could find out how to get it!!

Some Verizon users can download Disney's first official Disney Parks mobile app now for $9.99 for 180 days. Why so expensive, Disney?

Verizon users that can use Media Center: go to the Media Center to “Browse & Download,” then “Get New Applications.” You’ll then find Mobile Magic in the “Travel & Navigation” folder.  The app can also be found by texting Magic to 2777 later today. There’s a 24-hour free trial available for a limited time if you’d like to test it out.

I have heard from a friend on Verizon that it is only available on the most up to date phones and Disney Mobile is not going to be on the phones that have Get it Now.

With limited availability, a high price, and Verizon-only... sounds like a FAIL on Disney's part to me.

It seems Verizon has rolled this out for many phones, but of course not mine yet. I bought a smartphone just so I could have access to better stuff, now it seems the touch phones will be the last to get this app.  :pissed:  I've got my fingers crossed that it'll be out by the time I head to WDW on 12/5!

VIA Disney:

The application is ready to use but the team will be fine tuning it until January. Mobile Magic is bringing FASTPASS return times, attraction wait times for the park you are in, extensive information on character locations and more for Walt Disney World and Disneyland theme parks to your Verizon
Wireless phone. And, even if you are not a Verizon Wireless subscriber, you can still use your mobile phone to access select park information and on the Disney Parks Mobile web sites.

Here's the list of phones that the app is currently available on:

- LG Glance
- LG VX Chocolate
- LG Chocolate 3
- LG Decoy
- LG VX 8700
- LG Venus
- Moto Adventure
- Nokia 7205
- Samsung Renown
- Moto 325
- Samsung 540
- Samsung 550
- LG 5500
- Nokia 6205
- Moto 755
- UT Starcom 8950
- UT Starcom GC1-c711
- GZ1 - S Boulder
- Moto K1 -M
- Moto - L7c
- LG 8350
- Samsung Trance
- Moto V3m
- Moto Barrage
- Moto VU204

The list of Verizon Wireless phones that Mobile Magic will be available on is expected to grow to include "touch" handsets and smartphones in the upcoming weeks.
